Sales tax collections in Cleveland County have shown an increase this year, according to the Cleveland County Herald.

The newspaper reported that the county saw a 12-percent increase in the one-cent tax collection for July, compared to July 2024.

That translated to collections of $46,472.19 last month, compared to $41,200.29 for July 2024.

County Treasurer Angie Kimsey reported that so far this year, tax collections have exceeded the collections from last year for every month. The one-percent tax  is split with 69 percent going to the road department and the remaining 31 percent to county general.
