City of Pine Bluff Releases Statement Following Drowning at Aquatic Center

The City of Pine Bluff has issued a public statement regarding an incident that occurred Tuesday at the Carl Redus Jr. Aquatic Center.

According to the statement, an individual was found unresponsive at the aquatic center, prompting an emergency response. City officials said emergency personnel were notified and responded promptly to the scene.  Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley confirmed to Deltaplex News that a drowning did occur.

The city stated that the matter remains under review and that no additional information is being released at this time.

The brief statement was released through the Office of the Mayor on June 10.
