The Deltaplex Business salute this week focuses on Wing Stop, one of two businesses that Rob Cheatwood is involved in.
He said one of them, A-Team is actually his mother, Kayla’s business, and has been opened for about 35 years. He works in the business, as his wife does, and in the middle of that period, he opened Wing Stop, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary this month.
Cheatwood said originally, Wing Stop, which is located near Walmart, was open from 4 p.m. to midnight and was not serving lunch.
Cheatwood was asked if he thought Wing Stop had been a good franchise to be involved with and he answered this way.
He said he is locked in the present location, near Walmart, with easy access in and out, and with a stop light to control one of the highest if not the highest traffic counts in the city. And while the location is set, there are some planned changes.
Asked about the possibility of locating a store near the casino, Chatwood said he didn’t know, adding that Wing Stop has a person that comes in and looks over areas and they really hadn’t seen anything he needed to do.
