Several individuals have officially filed to run for public office in Drew County, according to a list provided by the Drew County Clerk’s Office.
In the County Judge race, Jessie Griffin and Michel Owens, both Republicans, have entered the race.
For County Treasurer, Charles Searcy, a Republican, has filed for re-election.
The Sheriff position will feature Larry Smith, who has filed as an Independent, while Doug Horton, a Republican, will seek the office of County Surveyor.
In Quorum Court races, Frank Appleberry has filed as an Independent for Position 8, and Ben Higginbotham has filed as a Republican for Position 2.
The Monticello School Board will also see contested positions, with Keith Wells, Sr. filing as an Independent for Position 2 and LeAnne Burch filing as an Independent for Position 1.
