Burn Ban Issued for Dallas County Amid Increased Wildfire Risk

A countywide burn ban is now in effect in Dallas County due to dry conditions and an elevated risk of wildfires, according to local officials.

Under the burn ban, all outdoor burning is strictly prohibited. This includes the burning of brush piles, yard debris, campfires, fire pits and any open flames that are not specifically exempted by law.

Officials say the restrictions are necessary to protect lives, property and emergency responders as dry weather conditions increase the likelihood that a small fire could quickly spread out of control.

Residents are urged to take the ban seriously. Violations may result in citations, fines or other enforcement action.

The burn ban will remain in effect until weather and ground conditions improve and the restriction is officially lifted by authorities.
