Brad Young Highlights Experience and Vision in Cleveland County Sheriff Race

With Cleveland County Sheriff Jack Rodgers set to retire at the end of his term, several candidates have stepped forward to run for the position. One of those candidates is Brad Young, the son of current Chief Deputy Gary Young.

Young brings more than 20 years of law enforcement experience, including service with the Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. He told Deltaplex News that he has been around the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office “since before he could walk,” noting his lifelong connection to the department.

Young said that the next Sheriff in Cleveland County will have their work cut out for them, and he explained why.

Young shared what his goals will be if elected Sheriff.

He also spoke about combating crime.

When asked if there was anything else he wanted voters in Cleveland County to know, Young emphasized transparency and noted that state law will require deputies to wear cameras beginning in 2026.
