A $10,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Jefferson County man who allegedly fired shots at a neighbor Monday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge James Wolfe, 43, of Jefferson with terroristic threatening.

Sheriff’s investigators reported that Wolfe went to the victim’s residence in Jefferson and pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill him.

Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said Wolfe’s wife gave deputies two handguns and a witness to the incident confirmed the victim’s account of the incident.

Wolfe was taken to the adult detention center but was not initially interviewed because he was reportedly intoxicated. He did however say that he fired a “couple of shots into the ground” but did not aim the gun at anyone.

Wolfe was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Oct. 8.

He was also charged with nine misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in connection with the incident and those allegations will be added to the felony terroristic threatening allegation.
