A $25,000 bond was set Friday for a man accused of hitting a clerk at a convenience store in August, then fleeing without paying for merchandise.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jewan Davis, 25, with robbery and third-degree battery.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said on Aug. 26, police were sent to Two Brothers One Stop on South Blake Street.

West said Davis is currently on parole in Saline County and is listed as an absconder.

Davis was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Oct. 24.
