The precautionary boil orders issued on May 18 for customers of the South Sheridan Water Association and the Little Creek Water Association have officially been lifted as of Tuesday morning.
The orders were put in place following damage to the South Sheridan Water Association’s treatment plant. As a precaution, all customers served by both water systems were advised to boil their water before consumption until testing confirmed it was safe.
Water officials announced that testing has now confirmed the water meets safety standards, and normal usage can resume without boiling.
However, residents may notice some discoloration in their water due to the increased flow now moving through the system. Authorities emphasized that the discoloration is temporary and does not pose a health risk.
Customers with concerns about water clarity are encouraged to let their taps run for a short time to help clear any residual sediment.
