Batesville Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash at Highway 270 and 104

A Batesville woman was killed and two others were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 270 and Highway 104, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

The crash occurred at about 3:26 p.m. when a 2012 Chrysler 200, driven by 43-year-old Jaime L. Dieffenbacher, failed to stop at a stop sign on Highway 104. A 2021 Toyota 4Runner, traveling westbound on Highway 270, struck the Chrysler on the driver’s side, troopers said.

Dieffenbacher died at the scene. Her body was taken to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. A minor child traveling in her vehicle was injured, though the extent of the injuries was not listed.

The driver of the 4Runner, 21-year-old Madelyn Evans of White Hall, was also injured.

Weather conditions at the time were clear and the roadway was dry.

To date, 499 fatalities have happened on Arkansas roads and highways in 2025.
