UPDATE: Arkansas State Police have located the commercial vehicle and identified the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that occurred Tuesday, Dec. 30 on Interstate 530 in Jefferson County.
According to the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division, the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 30 near the 34-mile marker on I-530 South. Investigators say a Peterbilt commercial truck struck an orange Dodge Charger, forcing the vehicle off the roadway and into the median.
The Charger then crossed back over the southbound lanes, overturned and came to rest in a wooded area, authorities said.
Through continued investigative efforts, troopers were able to locate the commercial vehicle and positively identify the driver involved in the incident. Authorities did not release the driver’s name, and no charges have been announced at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.
