The Arkansas Education Association will hold a press conference this Thursday regarding two ballot measure campaigns AEA is supporting this year. Partners from both campaigns, Protect AR Rights (Arkansas Ballot Measure Rights Amendment), and For AR Kids (Arkansas Education Rights Amendment), will join AEA at the press conference.

The Arkansas Ballot Measure Rights Amendment is a proposed constitutional amendment to protect and enhance citizens’ right to sign, collect signatures for and propose ballot measures in Arkansas.

The measure prevents politicians from interfering with voters’ ability to pursue ballot measures, improves due process protections for voters, and ensures the integrity of the ballot measure process by explicitly defining signature fraud and making it illegal. Learn more at ProtectARRights.org

The Arkansas Education Rights Amendment is a proposed constitutional amendment to hold any school that receives public financing to the same standards as public schools, protect minimum education quality standards in the Arkansas Constitution, and ensure that all students have access to 4 of the most powerful education strategies: quality special education, learning support for students in poverty, after school and summer programs, and pre-k programs for 3 and 4 year olds.
