We’ve had the opportunity each month in 2025 to speak with officials from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission about a variety of topics related to the agency’s initiatives and the broader economic climate in the Natural State.
This month, we were again joined by Clint O’Neal, executive director of the AEDC. He took a moment to share details on the newly announced Community Grant Assistance Program, which aims to address some of the most pressing needs across Arkansas.
O’Neal also discussed an upcoming trip to the Paris Airshow, where he, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and other state officials will work to attract further investment in Arkansas’ growing aerospace industry.
Aerospace products—including aircraft and parts—are Arkansas’ largest export category, generating over $950 million in 2024 and accounting for about 20 percent of the state’s total exports. The industry employs more than 12,000 people statewide in manufacturing, maintenance, and defense-related jobs.
O’Neal said the state hopes to build on that momentum.
He also highlighted several recent rankings showing Arkansas as one of the best places in the country to do business.
Finally, we discussed O’Neal’s recent recognition as one of Consultant Connect’s Top 50 Economic Developers in North America. He said the award reflects the efforts of the entire AEDC team.
