Arkansans will be able to do their back to school shopping during the Sales Tax Holiday this year August 2nd and 3rd.

During the weekend, you’ll be able to purchase certain items and avoid paying state and local tax and use tax, according to the Arkansas Department of Finance.

Items covered will be clothing and footwear less than $100 per item, and clothing accessories and equipment less than $50 per item. This includes jewelry, wallets, cosmetics, etc.

Supplies include binders, book bags, pencils, notebooks, markers, paper, etc. Art supplies are also included.\

School instructional materials like reference books, reference maps and globes, textbooks and workbooks

Electronic devices like calculators, cell phones, computer monitors, laptops, printers and tables are also included.

Sewing equipment and supplies, protective equipment, and sport or recreational equipment do not qualify.
