A $50,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff woman accused of firing a shot from a vehicle that resulted in a man being hit by the bullet.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Lacey Hoover, 34, with first-degree battery and unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective James Drury, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said in the early morning hours June 21, police were sent to Jefferson Regional Hospital where a man was being treated for a gunshot wound.

The victim was not able to say much at that time but Drury conducted a follow-up interview later.

Hoover was taken into custody and when interviewed, she said this.

She was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Aug. 1.
