A $50,000 bond was set Friday for an El Dorado man currently on parole who is accused of burglary and theft.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge James Pearce, 44, with residential burglary, theft of property and criminal mischief.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said Pearce was arrested after Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported alarm at a residence and after arriving, cleared the residence and didn’t find anyone inside.

Reed said Pearce has more than four prior felony convictions. A petition has also been filed seeking to revoke his parole and he will be held without bond pending a hearing on that petition.
