A $2,500 cash only bond was set Wednesday for a Jefferson County woman on drug related charges.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Melanie Rainey, 50, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Sgt. Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said late in the evening Tuesday, White Hall Police stopped a vehicle on I-530 because the vehicle had an expired license.
Rainey has several misdemeanor failures to appear and a warrant for breaking or entering. She was told to come back to court Aug. 20.
