The Monticello Police Department has arrested a Monticello man on several serious felony charges, including rape of a child and possession of child sexual abuse material.
According to Monticello Police Chief Carlos Garcia, investigators with the Monticello Police Department, assisted by the Drew County Sheriff’s Department, took 41-year-old Clinton Savage into custody on August 14, 2025. Savage faces charges of rape of a child, distributing, possessing, or viewing sexually explicit material involving a child, and possession of firearms by certain persons.
Savage was transported to the Drew County Detention Facility, where he is being held pending court proceedings. He appeared before Judge Robert Gibson on August 15, 2025, where his bond was set at $1 million.
