Local agencies and volunteers lend aid after fire at Jefferson Regional Hospital

In the face of great adversity, our community along with EASI Ambulance Service and Hydrating Hometown Heroes, came together to help the staff and patients at Jefferson Regional Hospital. As you know, from our earlier story, there was a fire at the Entergy transfer unit at the hospital. No one was injured, and the patients are being taken to other hospitals around the state. EASI was instrumental in transferring those patients. Local volunteer firefighters started distributing cooling fans filled with ice and water to help keep our nurses, patients, and doctors as cool as possible with the extreme heat we are currently facing.

We hope this will serve as a reminder to our community that your local Fire Department, Police and EMT’s are more than just blank faces, they are your local heroes.
