A one-vehicle accident near Fordyce in Dallas County early Monday resulted in the death of a Kingsland woman.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Linda Fletcher, 62, was southbound on U.S. 79 when the 2011 Ford Flex she was driving left the roadway to the right and collided with an embankment, went airborne and overturned.
Fletcher was taken to the Dallas County Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
After impact, the vehicle came to final rest upright along the southbound roadside ditch.
The accident was reported at 2:45 a.m. and the death was the 527th so far this year on the state’s highways.
