King promoted to Superintendent of Cleveland County School District

According to the Cleveland County Herald.  Davy King has been hired as superintendent of the Cleveland County School District. The School Board unanimously approved board member Helen Browning’s motion to hire King, currently the director of athletics, transportation and maintenance for the school district, as the new superintendent during a special called meeting Thursday night. King will begin his new position on July 1. King will succeed Jerrod Williams, who will complete his one-year term with the school district on June 30. King has served in a variety of roles with the district, from head baseball coach and assistant football coach to Rison High School principal and, this past year, being named to the new position of director of athletics, transportation and maintenance.
