Concerns about water pressure in Grant County were discussed during a meeting of the Grant County Quorum Court on May 15.

According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, Brody Channell with the Planning Commission brough the subject up when he talked about a recent fire near the fairgrounds and said because of expansions in the area, there is a greater need for improving water lines.

He said inadequate water supply has been an on-going issue for fire departments trying to fight fires in rural parts of the county.

Before the fire, residents had complained about the lack of water and/or water pressure and while the issue was discussed, no concrete steps were taken.

The Quorum Court also approved an ordinance transferring a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe to the Sheridan/Grant County Regional Airport Authority to be used as a courtesy vehicle for visitors to the airport.
