Go Forward Pine Bluff presented a check for $1 million to the Cityof Pine Bluff Monday night during the regular meeting of the City Council.

According to a press release, the funds will be used to complete the 6th and Main Retail and Restaurant District that is currently under construction.

Ryan Watley, CEO of Go Forward Pine Bluff said the Walton Family Foundation approved a grant request from Go Forward Pine Bluff.

“Go Forward Pine Bluff presents this one-million dollar check as an investment for entrepreneurs seeking a quality, affordable space to start and grow their business into an independent venture,” Watley said in the press release.

Mayor Shirley Washington was also quoted as saying “While we actively recruit franchise retail and restaurant businesses, the strength of Pine Bluff’s economy is tied to the strength of our local entrepreneurs. This grant will work to build solid businesses for generations, and in the process, create more jobs.”
