The Star City School District has settled a lawsuit filed by a former teacher and coach, according to the Lincoln Ledger newspaper.

Jim Teague, who had worked for the Star City School District for 28 years filed the suit under the Arkansas Teacher Fair Dismissal Act and named the school district, members of the school board individually as well as the superintendent at the time.

Attorney Clint Todd, who represented Teague told the newspaper the settlement was for $54,000.

Current Superintendent Jordan Frizzell released a statement saying that the board had authorized the district to settle the suit, in return for dismissing it and said it was in the best interest of the district to conclude the lawsuit and continue to put its focus on the students in the school district.
