Former A-State football player Blaise Taylor was arrested by U.S. Marshals last night in Utah and served with an indictment from Nashville police. He is accused of poisoning his girlfriend and unborn child in February of 2023. The 27 year old Taylor, who has been working with the Tennessee Titans as a pro scout, is accused of poisoning Jade Benning. Benning died on March 6th, 2023, which was her 25th birthday. Her five month old fetus, which Taylor is believed to have fathered, died on February 27, 2023. Benning was rushed to the hospital last year after Taylor called 911, saying Benning was having an allergic reaction. Her condition quickly became critical and she was unable to speak to police before she died.  Blaise Taylor is accused on poisoning her without her knowledge while visiting her apartment.  Taylor, the son of Texas A&M running back’s coach Trooper Taylor, was a four year starter in Jonesboro, and holds AState records for punt return yards, pass breakups and passes defended.  His father was an assistant at Arkansas State at the time. Nashville authorities are working with officials in Utah to transport him back to Tennessee.
