Entergy crews working to restore power

Update:

(JULY 26, 2023 – PINE BLUFF, AR) At approximately 5 pm on Tuesday, July 25th, there was a fire at the Entergy transfer switch on the main campus of Jefferson Regional in Pine Bluff. The fire took place outside and was quickly extinguished with no injuries.

Entergy crews are on site today working to repair the power feed, and the main hospital is currently operating on generator power. Outpatient surgeries, procedures and testing scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday have been canceled.

Inpatients are being transferred to hospitals around the state or discharged, based on condition. The Jefferson Regional Emergency Room is operational, but ambulances are on diversion to other facilities.

Update:

The Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Room have been cleared and all patients transferred to Little Rock. The remainder of the hospital’s patients are expected to be transferred today.
Statement from Jefferson Regional Hospital Tuesday night:
“There was a fire at the Entergy transfer switch on the Jefferson Regional campus today around 5 pm. Entergy is working on a solution to repair the power feed. We are currently on diversion and patients scheduled for procedures at the main hospital have been cancelled for tomorrow. “
Multiple sources have told Deltaplex News that critical patients are actively being transferred to other state hospitals and the plan is to continue transferring patients in order of urgency of their condition.
