As CAVHS enters Phase 2, Step 1 of our recovery operations, we are amending our visitation policy for the Little Rock and North Little Rock facilities.

Three Alert Levels

  • Normal Visitation:  Open visitation with no restrictions.
  • Elevated Alert Visitation Restrictions: Activated at the discretion of the Medical Center Director.
    • Entry is limited to Veterans with scheduled appointments, procedures or other essential business that cannot occur by any other means, including virtually.
    • One caregiver or family member over the age of 18 may accompany the Veteran
    • Designated waiting areas will be used for caregivers or family members and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
    • A qualified service dog can accompany a Veteran into CAVHS facilities.
    • No access to the Community Living Center except by Executive Leadership permission.
    • Inpatients — with the exception of the CLC — will be allowed one visitor over the age of 18 in the facility at a time.
  • High Alert Visitation Restrictions: Activated at the discretion of the Medical Center Director.
    • Entry to CAVHS facilities is restricted to Veterans with scheduled appointments, procedures, or other essential business that cannot occur by any other means, including virtually.
    • Caregivers and/or family members are not allowed into facilities except in extenuating circumstances.
    • A service dog may not accompany a Veteran into CAVHS facilities except by Executive Leadership permission.  If the dog is permitted one additional caregiver or family member over the age of 18 may be allowed if the Veteran is presenting to the Emergency Department or a procedural area and is unable to maintain primary responsibility for the dog.
    • No access to the Community Living Center is allowed for any reason except by Executive Leadership permission.

CAVHS is currently at the Elevated Alert Level.
