A Drew County woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on rain slick Arkansas Highway 278 East Wednesday afternoon.
According to a preliminary report, Crystal Gibson, 41 of Tillar was west bound on the highway when the 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by an unidentified driver crossed the center line while negotiating a curve and into the westbound lane of traffic, hitting the 2008 Ford Expedition she was driving.
After impact, both vehicles came to rest on the westbound roadside.
The accident was reported at 1:45 p.m. and the death was the 68th so far this year on the state’s highways.
