A Conway County man as killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 9 near Birdtown Thurssay morning.
According to a preliminary report, Matthew Brockman, 81, of Center Ridge was southbound when the 1997 Chevrolet he was driving left the roadway to the right, traveled down the ditch and hit a culvert with the front of the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death was the 8th so far this year on the state’s highways.
