A Sunday morning automobile accident in rural Cleveland County claimed the life of a Rison woman.
The Arkansas State Police reports that a 2019 Jeep driven by 60-year-old Stephen Vonne Clark of Rison was traveling north on Highway 63 at 9:44 a.m. when the Jeep ran off the road to the right before striking a fence and two trees before coming to a stop facing a westbound direction.
Clark’s passenger, 59-year-old Mary Elizabeth Clark of Rison, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Cleveland County Coroner.
Road conditions were clear and the road was damp according to the report from the Arkansas State Police.
Clark’s death is the third recorded death on Arkansas highways in 2022.
