Arkansas State Police report that the body of an unknown male found in the early morning hours Thursday on Interstate 530 has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for identification.
According to a preliminary report, the male was standing in the southbound outside lane when he was hit by an unknown vehicle that left the scene traveling southbound.
The male was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident was reported at 7:27 p.m. at Exit 27 on the interstate and the death was the 562nd so far this year on the state’s highways.
