Voters in Pine Bluff will go to the polls Aug. 8 to decide the fate of a millage increase for the Pine Bluff School District. If it passes, the district plans to construct a new high school campus and according to Superintendent Jennifer Barbaree, security will be a big part of the plan for that new campus.

Barbaree appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show.

Barbaree was asked to explain why the decision was made to locate the new campus at the same location as the old campus on Olive Street and answered this way.

She said a member of the current school board works for community and economic development and has talked about ways to create community partnerships around the new campus, such as building a park on vacant land nearby.
