LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A Hot Springs horse track is holding races this weekend but without spectators on site due to concerns about the novel coronavirus.

Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort announced the decision on Thursday and said fans who purchased tickets for this weekend will receive a full refund. Cancelled events include Dawn at Oaklawn and barn tours.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia.

The vast majority of people recover from the new virus. According to the World Health Organization, people with mild illness recover in about two weeks, while those with more severe illness may take three to six weeks to recover.

Arkansas officials on Thursday announced the number of coronavirus cases in the state has risen to six.

Oaklawn says fans can view weekend races on OaklawnAnywhere.com and TVG. Select races will be on FoxSports2 and the Madison Square Garden Network. Oaklawn said its casino will remain open.
