The Arkansas corrections system has a new secretary.  In a unanimous vote, former State Senator Eddie Joe Williams was named to the position on an interim basis.  That position has been vacant since early last month when the board ended the employment of Joe Profiri. Williams, who is from Cabot, was a member of the state legislature from 2011 to 2017, and was the minority leader from 2013 to 2017.  He also served on the Southern States Energy Board, after being appointed by then President Donald Trump.
