The Pine Bluff Marketing Committee Advertising and Promotion Commission met for their monthly meeting on Monday, September 13 under the leadership of Chair Berinda Eugene. The director of the commission, Sheri Storie, gave her report to the board which discussed future events and plans they have underway.
One of those future events includes participating in the American Association of State and Local History Conference that takes place from September 22-25. Storie will be presenting an exhibit booth with the theme “Doing History, Doing Justice” to highlight the history, the culture, civil rights legacy trail, and more. Storie spoke with Deltaplex news after the meeting and explained the plans for the exhibit.
The exhibit will take place at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock, AR. Times vary but AASLH created a schedule on their website for those who plan to attend.
Storie also presented to the board a new digital and promotional brand idea created by The Design Group with the theme “Discover our Delta” to promote tourism in Pine Bluff. The design was previously presented to city leaders, who were impressed by it. She explained the design is in alignment with the Delta Rhythm and Bayous Cultural District concept the city council unanimously voted to develop.
