Two people were killed and a third injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 65 at the Cleveland County line Friday.
According to a preliminary report, a 2016 Toyota Highlander driven by Zahlei Cung, 44, of Rison was northbound on U.S. 65 when the vehicle collided head-on with a 2022 GMC Canyon driven by Sherry L. Turner, 63, also of Rison.
Cung and a passenger in his car, Sung Vang, 43, also of Rison were killed and Turner was injured and taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital.
The accident was reported at 1:52 p.m. and the death was the 477th so far this year on the state’s highways.
