A $1,500 secured bond was set for a White Hall man accused of assaulting his soon-to-be ex-wife with a bottle of tequila.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 45-year-old Kendral Patterson with 2nd Degree Domestic Battery.
Reading from an affidavit, the Prosecuting Attorney said officers arrived to a residence when they made contact with a woman.
She states her soon-to-be ex-husband, identified as Patterson, showed up to her house and began knocking on the door, but soon began yelling.
According to the victim, he then went to her truck and opened the door, causing the alarm to sound.
The victim then went outside where another confrontation occurred between Patterson, the victim, and their children.
Patterson reached into the victim’s truck and pulled out a bottle of tequila before throwing it at her feet, causing injury.
She was taken to JRMC for examination.
When the victim was interviewed at the hospital, she gave her account as to what led to this altercation.
Detectives spoke with Patterson at the police department, where he was advised his Miranda rights.
He corroborates being in an argument with the victim and claims he knocked the bottle out of her hand, causing it to shatter at her feet.
Patterson was ordered to have no contact with the victim and is scheduled to return to court.
