Newly appointed Jefferson County Judge Ivan Whitfield got his first taste of county business Tuesday night as the Quorum Court held its committee meeting.
The meeting marked Whitfield’s first full session since being appointed county judge.
Following the meeting, Deltaplex News spoke with Whitfield about returning to the chamber in his new role.
One of the night’s biggest agenda items involved legal fees, including expenses incurred during former County Judge Gerald Robinson’s administration.
We also asked Whitfield whether he believes the Quorum Court is prepared to address those costs.
