A $10,000 cash bond was set for a Pine Bluff woman accused of giving a false name to police and dropping drugs on the ground.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 51-year-old Tammy Teeples with Obstructing Government Operations by giving a false name and Possession of Drugs.
Reading from an affidavit by Arkansas State Police Trooper David Gines, Prosecuting Attorney S Kyle Hunter said on May 15th, Officer Gines initiated a traffic stop for a motorcycle because the driver wasn’t wearing his protective eyewear while operating his motorcycle.
The officer asked the driver and passenger, Teeples, to identify themselves. Teeples attempted to give the name Lydia but when the officer ran the name, no results showed.
Another officer was requested to the scene as a result.
While attempting to locate her wallet, Teeples told officers her wallet might be in her bag, which was with another woman at the scene.
The woman was able to confirm the wallet was in her bag, and the wallet was found with an ID with the name Tammy Teeples.
Teeples denied that was her name.
Teeples also has an arrest warrant.
She was taken into custody.
While being placed into custody, officers observed a bag she had dropped on the ground near her feet of white crystal substance that was later discovered to be 7g of meth.
She’s currently serving 5 years of probation and is scheduled to return to court.
