Arkansas State Police to hold memorial service honoring fallen troopers

The Arkansas State Police will host its annual Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 6, to honor troopers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The ceremony, scheduled for 2 p.m. at Arkansas State Police Administrative Headquarters, comes ahead of National Police Week, which will be observed May 10-16.

During the service, troopers and agency personnel will gather to pay tribute to fallen colleagues. Each trooper who died in the line of duty will be honored with a single red rose presented to family members in attendance.

Since 1948, 21 Arkansas State Police troopers and two canines have died while serving the state.

The annual event serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and their dedication to protecting communities across Arkansas.

The ceremony will take place at One State Police Plaza Drive in Little Rock, near the intersection of Geyer Springs Road and Interstate 30. Attendees are asked to RSVP in advance.
