Pine Bluff Man Held on $100K Bond in Sexual Assault Case

A $100,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of sexually assaulting a woman.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Michael Cox, 49, with rape.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Ryan Edwards, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said on Wednesday just after midnight, police were sent to an address in Pine Bluff in response to a reported sexual assault.

Cox was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court June 3.
