Missing Jefferson County Woman Safely Located After Overnight Search

A 75-year-old woman reported missing Friday night has been safely located following an overnight search, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Geneva Sue McBee was last seen around 8:10 p.m. on April 10 at the McDonald’s on Camden Road near Interstate 530. Authorities said she was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and black shoes with white laces, and was carrying light blue clothing and a pair of brown boots.

McBee is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 110 pounds, with shoulder-length gray-blond hair. Officials noted she has been diagnosed with dementia and was reportedly asking for a ride home but was unable to provide her address.

The sheriff’s office initiated a search and released information to the public late Friday night.

According to authorities, a concerned citizen spotted McBee and contacted law enforcement around 2 a.m. on April 11. Deputies responded and located McBee, who was then evaluated by EASI medical personnel.

McBee was later safely returned to her family.

Officials credited the quick action of the citizen for helping bring the situation to a safe resolution.
