The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will host a daylong investment workshop led by a Wall Street professional, offering students and faculty an inside look at financial markets and career opportunities in the industry.

The event is scheduled for Monday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the STEM Building Conference Room on the UAPB campus.

The workshop will be facilitated by Brian Oh, a New York-based hedge fund manager who currently leads U.S. software sector research at Guidepoint Insights. Oh brings more than a decade of experience in public markets across the United States and Asia, with a focus on software, artificial intelligence infrastructure and internet platforms.

“This is a rare opportunity to learn the ropes of markets, hedge funds, and high-level career paths,” organizers said in a statement.

Oh, who previously served as a senior analyst and portfolio manager covering global technology, media and telecommunications sectors, said his investment philosophy centers on disciplined strategy and long-term value.

“My investment approach emphasizes earnings inflection, competitive durability, valuation discipline, and risk-managed capital allocation,” Oh said. “Earlier in my career, I held vice president roles in Market Risk at Bank of America, building quantitative risk frameworks across derivatives markets.”

The workshop will include sessions on investment fundamentals, hedge fund strategies and navigating careers in finance. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive assistance in opening individual brokerage accounts.

Organizers said breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided, along with giveaways for participants.

The event is being hosted by the UAPB School of Business and Management Investment Club.
