Pine Bluff Man Held on Drug Charges After Arrest at Correctional Facility

A $5,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man on drug related allegations.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Deandre Hart, 34, with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jarrell Johnson, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said on Friday, police were sent to the Arkansas Department of Correction Unit on Princeton Pike in response to a report that a person had illegal narcotics on their person.

The suspected methamphetamine weighed 0.9 grams.

Hart is currently on probation and was told to come back to court May 18.
