A $5,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of injuring an infant during an argument with his wife.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge James Jordan III, 21, with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.
Reading from an affidavit by Detective Lt. Derric Neal, Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter said on Saturday, police were sent to a reported domestic disturbance on Miramar Drive. When they arrived, they were met by Jordan’s wife who was holding a one-year-old child who had a laceration to the head.
She told police she and Jordan had gotten into an argument about him not taking responsibility and said she was pregnant with their third child.
Hunter said Jordan was previously convicted of misdemeanor third-degree domestic battery in July 2025.
Jordan was ordered to have no contact with the victims and told to come back to court May 15.
