Two Pine Bluff teenagers who were at the center of a series of shootings in the early morning hours Sunday will have to post $750,000 bonds to be released from the adult detention center following a court hearing Wednesday.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge Cylon Bead, 19, and Kristopher Walters, 19, with first-degree battery and committing a terroristic act. Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter said multiple other charges could also be filed based on the results of the continuing investigation.
The series of events started just after midnight when police were sent to the area of 28th Avenue and Bay Street in response to a report of multiple gunshots in the area.
Hunter said video showed four individuals fleeing from the Charger on foot.
The driver of the green Challenger suffered a non-life-threatening wound and a female in the car received cuts from flying glass from the windows being shot.
Hunter said before all that happened, there was another incident at the Shell Station on Blake Street.
The police report said the license plate on the Dodge Charger returned to a mechanic shop whose owner is Bead’s father.
Hunter said Bead and Walters will also be held on probable cause of capital murder pending a hearing on those allegations.
Bead and Walters were ordered to have no contact with the victims and told to come back to district court May 15.
