A $5,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Little Rock man accused of changing bar codes on merchandise at Walmart and reducing the listed price of items.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Keaney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Davdrin Goffin, 42, with theft of property.

Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter said the allegations would normally be a misdemeanor but because Goffin had been convicted of theft previously, the allegation becomes a Class D felony. Records also showed that Goffin had been accused of stealing from Walmart.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jesse Horton, Hunter said on Monday, police officers were working off-duty at Walmart when they were notified by store security of a theft in progress that had been seen on camera.

Goffin was ordered to come back to court May 15.
