Woman Charged with Hiding Murder Suspect Held on $25K Bond

A $25,000 bond was set Monday for a woman accused of hiding a man accused of murder.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Omarria Woodus, 19, with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

During the court hearing, Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter said police had been looking for Akyell Madison, who was wanted for murder. He said Detective Richard McCorvy developed information about Madison and passed it along to other detectives.

Woodus was told to come back to court May 13.
