Current Arkansas State Representative Kim Hammer is in a run-off with Brian Norris to win the Republican Party’s nomination for Secretary of State.
River Country Morning Show host Grant Merrill talked to Hammer and asked him why he wanted to be Secretary of State and what he wants people to know about him.
Merrill brought up the recent arrests in Phillips County of people attempting to fix an election and told Merrill he has made it clear that there will be election integrity and if there is not, he and (Attorney General) Tim Griffin will go after people to make sure elections are fair.
Merrill said run-off elections typically do not draw a lot of voters, and he was sure Hammer wants to encourage people to get out and vote for him.
Hammer was also asked what he had learned about running for state office.
