A countywide burn ban has been issued for Jefferson County due to heightened wildfire concerns, according to the Jefferson County Office of Emergency Management.
Officials said current conditions have led to an increased risk of wildfires, prompting the order, which applies to all areas of the county. The ban includes the cities of Pine Bluff, White Hall, Redfield, Altheimer, Humphrey, Wabbaseka and Sherrill.
The burn ban took effect immediately upon issuance and will remain in place until further notice.
County Judge Gerald Robinson signed the order on March 23, 2026, formalizing the restriction as a precautionary measure to help prevent potential fires during the current conditions.
